Steve Dewey (Retired)
- Steve, our founder, started this business in 1978. He prefers to look at retirement as a promotion… he has served many roles here at Country Comfort. From president to employee, then to landlord. You can still catch him in the office almost any day of the week. Most likely hanging out with his best friend Tom, tinkering with something or talking to customers... clearly, he has not retired. We are happy to still have him around. Steve is a walking book of endless knowledge when it comes to the hearth industry. He always says, “leave the wood pile higher than you found it” and is a constant reminder to us all that the best things in life aren’t things. Who knew?
Jeremy Benfield
(Lead Service Technician) -
We have been fortunate to have Jeremy with us since 2015. His skill and expertise in troubleshooting are unmatched. Customers trust Jeremy’s expertise. Our regular customers frequently request him for service and annual cleanings. He is very passionate about being out in the field, so he can put his technical knowledge to use. When he isn’t putting all that knowledge into use, you can find him enjoying time with his family, working on projects around the home, and he really enjoys the outdoors but specifically in the winter. Jeremy says winter is the best time of the year!
Elizabeth Stine (Sales Specialist)
- In 2019, Elizabeth started out as our administrative assistant but quickly moved into sales. She currently handles most of our sales as well as our online presence and digital engagement. She enjoys building relationships with customers and helping them find the perfect hearth solution for their home. She loves to see a project come to life and lives for the fireplace transformations! She also enjoys using her creative side to manage our social media and our website. In Elizabeth’s free time, you can find her hanging out with her cat, Maia, and somewhere outdoors, most likely gardening. She is a very passionate bird watcher, can hand feed hummingbirds and likes to rebuild engines.
Mark Geiman (Lead Installer) -
Mark has been with us since 2020. He is incredibly good at his job! His attention to detail, love for building and creating things makes him the perfect fit as lead installer. Since every installation is different, it keeps things fun and exciting. He is never afraid to tackle any job, no matter how complex. He says the staff here is the best he’s ever worked with. When he’s not in customer’s homes doing inspections for jobs or installing new units, he likes to read, collect Star Wars and military items, and watch baseball. Mark also really enjoys his family time with his wife and two kids.
Brayden Kelly (Service Associate)
- Brayden started at Country Comfort in 2023. His strong and versatile background makes him excellent at handling phone calls and running our parts department. If you’ve ever purchased a part for your stove, pellets or even scheduled a service call you’ve probably talked with Brayden. He loves to help customers during difficult times and provide tips when they are having an issue with their stove. His passions are art, cars and fashion. He has a creative side second to none and his drawing skills are immaculate.
Chris Burgess (Service Technician) -
Chris has been a great addition to our team since he started in 2024. He has grown so much this year and has learned a lot about servicing hearth products! His mechanical background has helped him thrive here as a service technician. He enjoys seeing new locations when driving to customers’ homes for service. Chris has a 1973 Plymouth duster that he loves to work on, and he also loves to spend time with his kids. He can bore you with car facts, if you let him.
Kyle Sourbeer (Service Associate)
- Kyle has been with us since 2024. You will mostly see him at our parts department. He does a little bit of everything and keeps himself busy with the endless things that need done around the shop. Kyle’s very sociable so he enjoys working with customers and getting to know them. He has broken his back twice and has incredibly fully recovered. When Kyle isn’t at work, he likes to play baseball with his kids and go on family adventures. He has tons of pets. He has 1 dog, 2 cats, 6 snakes, 1 sugar glider and even an alligator!
Lakota Horton (Installer) - Lakota started at Country Comfort in 2024. He has been a wonderful addition to the team. Him and Mark work seamlessly together to provide top-tier service for new installations. He enjoys spending his workday in different homes, working with our customers and helping with the installation of their new hearth product. When Lakota isn’t installing new stoves, you can find him hanging out with his family, cooking, and hosting family cookouts. When asked for a fun fact, Lakota said “water is not wet, it makes things wet. Water can be wetter by adding soap into it.” We are all still trying to figure out what that means… let us know if you figure it out..
Jerome James (President) - Jerome has been leading at Country Comfort since 2014, while he’s implemented many new things, he has kept Steve’s foundation very strong. He loves our customers. Over the years, many have become great friends, and his favorite part is being able to help them. He has built a fantastic team of committed individuals working hard every day to provide the best possible service for our customers. Jerome’s passion is providing products and services that save people money, keeps them warm, and often becomes the (heart) hearth of their home. When Jerome was asked what he likes to do in his free time, he said “free time? What’s that?” Work and family are his hobbies. He has two kids who keep him and his wife very proud, happy, and constantly moving. Jerome hates the cold – but lucky for him he has a stove shop.
Hattie (Shop Associate)
- Hattie has been blessing everyone with her presence for two years. She is arguably the best team member here at the shop. She loves being the center of attention and her favorite spot to lay is directly at the front door, so she doesn’t miss a single opportunity for belly rubs… and treats. Did we mention she loves treats? If you leave your lunch unattended… she will eat it!
